Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) offers rebates to help members save money on electric appliances, heating/cooling upgrades, EVs/chargers, batteries, and more. Most rebates need to be submitted within 90 days of purchase/installation, and some programs have annual caps or program caps.


1) Appliance Rebates

What it is: Rebates for certain efficient home appliances (including induction cooking and heat-pump dryers).

  • Induction range/cooktop: $100 per unit (electric-to-induction replacement); $350 for gas-to-induction or new construction (or up to 100% of purchase price before taxes/shipping for nonโ€“PowerWise Pledge); and $500 for gas-to-induction or new construction (or up to 100% of purchase price before taxes/shipping for PowerWise Pledge contributors).
  • ENERGY STAR electric clothes dryer: $30 per unit (and $130 per unit for gas-to-electric conversions for PowerWise Pledge contributors).
  • ENERGY STAR hybrid heat pump dryer: $90 per unit (and $190 per unit for gas-to-electric heat pump conversions for PowerWise Pledge contributors).
  • Refrigerator/freezer recycling: $60 per recycle (nonโ€“PowerWise Pledge) or $100 per recycle (PowerWise Pledge), limit 2 per year (full-size).

2) Heating & Cooling Rebates

What it is: Rebates for heat pumps and heat pump water heaters.

Air Source Heat Pumps

  • Up to $500 for a partial home installation (addition/bonus room/bedroom).
  • Up to $500 per ton for whole-home installs.
  • Up to $1,000 low-to-moderate income bonus (if eligible).

Ground Source (Geothermal) Heat Pumps

  • $500 per ton for new installations.
  • Additional matching rebate: $500 per ton for new installations, up to $2,500 per installation.
  • $250 per ton for existing unit rebates (when applicable).

Heat Pump Water Heaters

  • 50% of cost up to $950.

3) Electric Vehicles (EVs) & Charging

What it is: Rebates for EV purchases (program-dependent) and Level 2 home charging station installation.

Level 2 EV Charger + Installation

  • 50% of the cost, up to $1,250 (TOU/time-of-use rate signup required).

EV Purchase Rebate (PowerWise Pledge contributors)

  • 25% off purchase price up to $1,000 (one rebate per VIN; other requirements apply).

4) Home Battery System & Portable Electric Generator Rebates

What it is: Rebates for qualifying energy storage (battery systems or portable electric generators).

  • $0.20 per watt-hour, up to $500 maximum, and up to 50% of purchase price (minimum size and other requirements apply).

5) Outdoor Power Equipment (Including E-bikes)

What it is: Rebates for switching from gas to electric outdoor equipment (plus e-bikes).

  • Maximum rebate of $300 per account per year for outdoor power equipment (excluding riding mowers).
  • Riding lawn mowers: stand-alone maximum rebate up to $1,000 per account.
  • E-bikes: 25% of cost up to $150 (new equipment only; minimum purchase price and other requirements apply).

  • GCEA notes that rebate amounts listed are eligible for the current program year and that Tri-State funded rebates have a per-account cap.
  • Most rebates must be submitted within 90 days of purchase/installation.
