The Gunnison Valley Community Climate Coalition (GVC3) is a 100% volunteer-powered climate advocacy group rooted in the Gunnison Valley. We bring together local residents, scientists, engineers, students, and community partners to work toward meaningful reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and help reverse climate change at the local and regional level.
What we do:
- Advocate for cleaner energy and electrification — engaging with utilities like Tri-State Generation & Transmission and the Gunnison County Electric Association to expand renewable power and reduce emissions.
- Promote sustainable building and electrification policies — including code updates and energy-efficient construction practices in town and county planning.
- Mobilize community action — events like climate marches, local film festivals, youth outreach, and partnerships that bring climate awareness into everyday life.
- Educate and collaborate — from climate apps that enable easy action to youth engagement and education initiatives that spark climate leadership across generations.
We build coalitions of organizations, local businesses, and individuals — amplifying community power to influence policy and practice for a healthier future.
Join us! Our supporters take simple climate actions, learn together, and help serve as a voice for sustainable solutions right here in the valley — all with no financial commitment required.
