What is GVC3?

GVC3 (Gunnison Valley Community Climate Coalition) is a volunteer-led, community-based group working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Gunnison Valley through advocacy, education, and collective action.

Do I have to donate money to participate?

No. We don’t ask for money. Supporting GVC3 means lending your voice—by taking occasional one-minute climate actions or participating in community events.

What does a “Supporter” do?

Supporters are invited to:

  • Complete brief online climate actions (usually about a minute)
  • Attend events or educational opportunities
  • Stay informed about local climate progress

Participation is flexible and always optional.

Who can join GVC3?

Anyone. We welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, professions, and political perspectives who care about the future of our community and planet.

Is GVC3 a political organization?

We advocate for climate solutions, not political parties. Our focus is on practical, community-driven actions that reduce emissions and support a healthy local economy.

How much time does this take?

As little or as much as you choose. Many supporters participate by completing a one-minute action every so often. Others get more involved through events or working groups.

Do I need to be a climate expert to get involved?

Not at all. GVC3 includes students, retirees, professionals, and neighbors. Curiosity and care matter more than expertise.

How does GVC3 create real impact locally?

We focus on local solutions—community education, partnerships, advocacy, and participation in regional initiatives that reduce emissions and support renewable energy adoption.

Does GVC3 support solutions that protect local jobs and livelihoods?

Yes. We believe climate action should strengthen—not disrupt—our community’s ability to make a living.
